SR 80 (Southern Blvd) Bridge Replacement Project
The existing bridges, constructed in 1950, carry two lanes of traffic, with no bike lanes and narrow sidewalks. In addition,the replacement bridges will include wider sidewalk, bike lanes, traffic railing barrier, drainage system improvements, and decorative lighting. Signalization improvements will be incorporated at the intersections of Southern Blvd/Washington Avenue and Southern Blvd/Flagler Drive. New signing and pavement markings will be installed throughout the project. A temporary bridge will be constructed to maintain traffic while the replacement drawbridge is being constructed. The tide relief bridge will be phased constructed in order to maintain traffic to/from the Town of Palm Beach during construction.The right of way acquisition is completed and all construction work is within FDOT Right-of-Way.
