PD & E Study

 

The objectives of a PD&E study are listed below:

  •   Determine the need for the proposed transportation improvements

  •   Ensure participation of the community and other stakeholders early in  

      the design process

  •   Develop alternatives which satisfy transportation needs and 

       requirements and minimize impacts on the surrounding environment

       and be an asset to the community.

  •   Agency and Local Officials Kick-Off-Meeting

  •   Public Kick-Off Meeting

  •   Development and Evaluation of Alternatives

  •   Public Alternatives Workshop

  •   Documentation of Study Methods and Results in Reports

  •   Selection of Preferred Alternative

  •   Public Hearing

  •   Update Environmental and Engineering reports

  •   Obtain Approval of Preferred Alternative from the Federal Highway

       Administration (FHWA).
